Quiet Enjoyment – New York, New York As you saw from my previous posts, the raised vantage point of the High Line offers great views of the surrounding architecture. However, this linear park also offers wonderful street photography opportunities. While the chunky Fujifilm GFX 50S II with the 35-70mm lens creates outstanding high-resolution images, perfect for urban landscapes, it’s less than ideal for street photography. It certainly can shoot in the street, but it can attract more attention. The Leica D-Lux 8, on the other hand, is only slightly larger than a point-and-shoot. Its lower profile makes it easier to capture people in their native habitat. The size of the camera is part psychological. Sure, the larger camera is more visible. Still, I think the effect of the larger device on the photographer is equally important. For me, I’m more willing to shoot openly with a small camera, thinking I’m less visible on the street.
