It’s what it sounds like: they have a space with equipment and kind people sharing their time and experience.They do lots of things, and last week I learned that one of those things is teaching primary school children to cook. With proper knives, hobs and ovens.We were there eating Mexican food and lucky enough to sit at the counter. Which meant I got to ask my stupid question: why do we need a charity to teach children to cook, rather than a school?As you can imagine, there are tons of reasons around money, time, and inequality.But another one is around kitchen access. Some schools outsource the kitchen, meaning it can only be used by the company providing the service, not the staff and students.
