Stop?

I was walking around a housing development adjacent to my cousin’s location and noticed they’re big on STOP signs at every intersection. Not only does every intersection have a stop sign, they have an “all way” stop. As a guy that studied traffic engineering in college, I was able to ascertain these stop signs were not installed due to traffic counts, but rather as a form of speed control. The lack of actual need for these stop signs is made apparent by the supplement signs at these installations. Using traffic control devices for speed control is never the right answer. When a motorist sees there’s really no reason for the stop sign, because all sight lines are easily visible and the driver is able to see the coast is clear, the motorist is going blow through the stop sign. There are so many stop signs in this very low-traffic location that it’s not possible for law enforcement to enforce these signs.
