No G Cloud 2 Coming, Apparently

I don’t usually link to The Verge twice over breakfast, but I do want to go on record as saying that I am still pretty happy with my G Cloud. Yes, it is slower than most modern gaming handhelds, but it has a glorious 7-inch 1080p screen, great ergonomics and enough power to run PS1 games locally (I am finally blundering my way through Metal Gear Solid, albeit slowly). Since we mostly stream games over the LAN here at home–our gaming setup is an Xbox and a dedicated Steam Link/retro emulation server–I have got plenty of use out of it. But my particular circumstances and spotty gaming habits very likely do not make me a profitable enough niche. There are a gazillion cheaper Chinese handhelds that can do much the same with less polish–or, rather, there were before hardware prices ballooned–so I can hardly blame Logitech for not building another one…
