Thermaltake’s retro inspired cases

Retro-inspired cases have been a bit of theme here of late. I’ve talked at length about Silverstone’s gorgeous beige boxes, and I’ve even shared random industrial cases from the likes of AliExpress that are wonderful in their own way. I think there are two key attributes that make a great modern retro case: A retro aesthetic. This goes without saying. I’m talking beige or brown side panels, pseudomorphic elements like floppy drive bezels, and more traditional elements like power switches in lieu of buttons. It doesn’t have to be perfectly authentic, but it should still be fun and charming as a throwback device. A bit of what we’d now consider retro functionality. Most cases today are built for gamers, with all available space taken up for fans, empty space, and RGB. By contrast, Silverstone’s FLP series balance good airflow with internal expansion and drive bays, something that appeals to homelabbers as well as retrocomputer tragics like me.
