Early on, while opening accounts and applying for their credit cards, something got flagged as fraudulent and I was locked out for three days. Not just my personal account, my business one too. Thankfully I still had my old bank set up during the transition, so it didn’t hurt me much. But that could be catastrophic if you have payments needing to go out at a set time. The other catch: if you grant an accountant or bookkeeper access to Wealthsimple, they’ll see all your personal info too. I dodge this with the QuickBooks connector, but it’s a common complaint online. No more getting nickel and dimed on fees I don’t think I really realized how much I was paying in fees until I moved everything off my traditional bank.
