Dept. of Name Collision, or, It’s Weird That It’s Happened Twice

Do you follow, or are aware of, more than one public figure by the same name? Turns out, I do. Warrens Ellis Warren Ellis, writer The first Ellis in my own media diet is the English comic book writer by that name. This Warren Ellis is actually the first one that comes up when you search for this name, so let’s assume he’s the more famous of the two. This Ellis (as i now learn his full name) was born in 1968, and is mostly famous for having written the comic Transmetropolitan. Other works you may be familiar with include Red (“Retired, Extremely Dangerous) which was adapted into a film starring Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich, and Helen Mirren in 2010. Warren Girard Ellis fell from favor in 2020 when it came out he was a bit of a fucking cad, and had used his (minor!) fame as a cudgel to coerce women into sexual relationships with him under false pretenses.
