Check out this no-longer-in-development Cyan game 0 ▲ Laura Michet 1 hour ago · Tech · hide · 0 comments Cyan, the game development studio behind Myst, recently had their yearly fan get-together, where they announced a lot of stuff and released a trailer for Project Anglerfish, a Myst-universe game that they began work on several years ago and are no longer working on. It's hard to call this game "canceled" when the developers themselves very conspicuously never use that phrase while discussing it. They apparently worked on this for four months. (There is stuff in here that looks insanely good for four months of work.) If you'll recall, there were some Cyan layoffs in 2025 - at one point half the studio, about twelve people, were laid off. The remaining staff is now working on something else entirely from the Myst universe. Anyone who's worked in the games industry long enough has seen stuff like this happen and can probably guess what happened here.
