2026 Anniversary Series 071: Peeping Tom – Peeping Tom

Scribed by Sandre the Giant Released: 30th May 2006 Named for the 1960 movie of the same name about a serial killer, Peeping Tom was one of the inimitable Mike Patton’s many side projects over the years, but with only one record under their belt in 2006, they are a bit of a one off project. Sadly, as this slinky lo-fi electronica/hip hop project remains one of the real under the radar high points of his career. The shell of the idea began in 2000, but it took six years to finally see the light of day and was written alongside a wide array of collaborators including Massive Attack and Norah Jones. You really have no idea where this is going if you think Patton’s stuff is all like Faith No More. Twenty years later, this is still an album I recommend to people if they want something a little weird but still very commercially appealing.
