I sometimes get into the weeds on something specific, offer a critical analysis of a subsystem, or suggest some way to utilize weird AD&D rules in your non-AD&D games, but by and large this blog is not overly concerned with 1e's mechanics.I appreciate the authorial voice and hyper specific DM advice in the 1e DMG, but as for actual rules, I'm a 2e guy. I know the ins and outs better and I think the rules are presented in a more digestible way. When I play AD&D, I want it to feel like 1e, but the bones of the game are 2e.All that preamble is to say that I haven't spent much time reading 1e's section on COMBAT.
