There’s a new Spider-Man coming out, and I realised I hadn’t actually watched this one. Everyone knows who Spider-Man (Tom Holland) is now, and it ruins his life and stops his mates getting into MIT (er, that and maybe they just didn’t get in??). So he gets Doctor Strange to make a spell to make everyone forget they know Peter Parker, but it opens a rift between multiverses and all the villains from the old Spider-Man movies come flooding in (Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, Jamie Foxx et al.), as well as the old Spider-Men (Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield). A good idea but a bit of a dreary execution? I don’t know what it is about these movies but I have to fight to stay awake as they constantly smack into each other and the environment. The meta humour vibe is fun for a while but runs out of steam pretty quickly, and it doesn’t have much to fall back on. The Tom Holland spidey thinks he can try and fix… No comments yet.
