Week 186: silly/iconic 0 ▲ Matthew Sheret 2 hours ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Last year I wrote a little roleplaying game. It’s about being a troubadour, singing a song about noble nights. Only, the knights are frogs. Everything is pond-scale. The playtests have been very silly, very fun, and more moving than they have any right to be. I’m going to publish a version of it on Twitch soon. I’ve not done anything like that before. Feels like a fun plan though. I’d love to print something for it as well, although I’ll have to walk the stock/storage tightrope very carefully. (Reminds me – I need to chat to Russell about printing stuff. Hello Russel!) Anyway, I got in touch with an old illustrator friend about doing some things for it. They were a bit busy, but recommended some others. Sar Cousins absolutely hit the spot. Their character work (on other RPG projects no less) sets a beautiful vibe, and the soft lines in their zine about folk customs (HOODEN HORSE!) felt much of a kin with what I had in mind for the game.
