I finally decided to commit to doing a Cornell Woolrich biography and have a publisher. Just a small one so I don't know how much publicity we can get, but I will do my best. I have my title, I have my table of contents and I have written all of 400 words today! A start. Basically a page plus. But starting is the most important thing. I feel like I'm peculiarly qualified to do this biography and that, after four decades, a new one is needed. Francis Nevins' 1988 bio of Woolrich will always be a tremendously important source, but a new, 21st century approach is way overdue. I have done a lot of new research and I think I can provide a somewhat different interpretive take. My book will also be a shorter, more straightforward, narrative-friendly book, one which will keep Cornell's life front and center.Hope to finish this year and have out in 2027, a little shy of Cornell's 125th birthday!
