Life The Weaver line wasn’t running for most of the week because of a line-side fire last Sunday. This pushed the commute up to c. 2.5h each way, and stretched everyone’s patience to a hair’s breadth shy of breaking point. At no point over the last 10 weeks have we found any desirable characteristics associated with a life in Higham’s Park. I guess it’s good to have our life choices vindicated, but we’ve been at 100% vindication for a long time now. England getting knocked out of the World Cup was a disappointment, and breaking the news to Ηη the next morning was reasonably tough. He took it far better than he did when Arsenal lost the champions league final, and he’s going to have to get used to being knocked out deep in the rounds if he’s going to be an England fan. I got gifted an old school Arsenal jersey and a nice running cap from my fam for my birthday. I’m delighted. My only concern is that strangers are going to try and talk to me about football (something which happened once…
