While publicly keeping his true identity cloaked, Mr. FD, having relocated to London, was well connected within the world of the “nu disco” explosion of the late 2000s. His work appeared on labels such as Bearfunk, Electric Minds and Rong Music. Imprints that ran on the enthusiasm of folks, names, such as Stevie Kotey, Faze Action and Yam Who? The track, “You Are My Sculpture”, however, featured on one of two EPs released in 2010 on Free Disco’s own label Strange Desire. Italy’s Archeo Recordings have now plucked the song from cult obscurity and licensed it for a limited reissue. The new 12 opens with the original “Heterosexual” mix, which is a slow, stripped back bit of sexy electro-sleaze. Powered by little more than a bass pulse, the artist – now calling himself “The Question Of Teething Fever” – serenading his Aphrodite, his Venus de Milo, with vocals that are half sung, half whispered and a little… No comments yet.
