Kitchen stuff that's still good 0 ▲ Dan Kim 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments Look up the owner, not the name. The name is the cheapest part of the company to preserve. If the ownership trail ends at a private equity firm or a licensing group, assume the product and the reputation are no longer aligned. This is a good one, because in the kitchen you should have stuff that lasts basically a lifetime. It’s a long, interesting essay and the villains are obvious (private equity, licensing groups), but the part to focus on is at the bottom with a list of brands to continue to consider: Lodge, Le Creuset, All-Clad, Tramontina, Victorinox, Wüsthof, Nordic Ware, Corelle, Vitamix, among others.
