Life Drawing - July 2026 0 ▲ The Artist’s Notebook 39 minutes ago · Life · hide · 0 comments I’ve managed to fit in three sessions of life-drawing so far this month—on three sequential Fridays—with the possibility of another session next week. It’s reminded me of how valuable it is not to leave large periods of time between sessions: with weekly sessions I feel like I’m building on the top of the previous session’s work, rather than starting from scratch. Similarly, the first drawing of any session is usually not up-to-scratch and often ends up in the recycling bin! Whether it’s within a single session or starting a series of sessions, there’s always a feeling of it being a hill start. In the first session on 3rd July I definitely felt out-of-practice, and most of the session was really about getting back to speed.
