Earl captured this from the instrument panel of the Rogue while he was out and about this afternoon. The Tucson area is under an Extreme Heat Watch for the next 48 hours. As I write this a couple of hours later, it’s 105.8F but on the bright side, there’s lightning flashes being detected within a 25 mile radius of the house. There were no thunderstorms in the forecast for today. I’m struggling a little bit with the heat in that I’m basically feeling the desert version of “Seasonal Affectation Disorder”, which is the blah mood I usually would feel in the northern winters. Because we can’t really go outside during the day due to fears of exploding from the sun, I’m feeling a bit of cabin fever. I’m flying back east for a few days starting tomorrow. There’s cooler temperatures promised for my old stomping grounds. I’m looking forward to some Great Lakes breezes.
