This week for my Patreon supporters I am taking a look at a round robin novel, which was written by the California chapter of the Mystery Writers of America. The contributors were, William A. P. White (Anthony Boucher), Terry Adler, Eunice Mays Boyd, Florence Faulkner, Allen Hymson, Cary Lucas, Dana Lyon, Lenore Glen Offord, Virginia Rath, Richard Shattuck, Darwin L. Teilhet & William Worley. I must admit that I have read work by only four of these authors: Boucher, Offord, Rath, and Shattuck (a penname for Dora Richard Shattuck). The Saturday Review of Literature enjoyed The Marble Forest quite a bit, calling it a ‘tour de force splicing of mad mystery with a prose "Spoon River" of the local dead who help explain the desperate present. They exhorted reader not to ‘miss it’.
