. The twin towers cover was the favourite of Graeme James Graeme James designed more than 2,500 covers for the weekly economics magazine. He was 65. The Economist‘s tribute identifies his own favourite cover as the one for the first anniversary of the attacks on the US of 11 September 2001: Two thin black rectangles stretch up in silhouette against a sunset. They are the twin towers. They are the 11 in 9/11. And they are monuments to the dead—and to a world that was lost.
