The 1928 Lincoln Highway in Indiana: Western Indiana

The US highways in Indiana with numbers ending in 0 or 1 have always been among its most major. They’re national arteries that bring people to and through Indiana, and can still be quite busy even though we now have Interstate highways. Once upon a time, US 30 and US 31 were both two-lane highways and they met in Plymouth, in Marshall County. But during the 1960s, both highways were rebuilt as four-lane expressways bypassing Plymouth. Today, old US 30, and therefor the 1928 Lincoln Highway, passes under current US 31 on its way westbound into Plymouth. Map data ©2026 Google.
