I find it incredibly fascinating how memory works. This morning, I saw a post from my friend Forrest where he linked to http://lostmyspace.com/ . Apparently somebody way back when archived about 500,000 songs from the site, before MySpace lost everything in a botched server migration. My friend and I also had a MySpace page back in the day and uploaded a bunch of crappy demos and cool guitar riffs. When I heard that MySpace lost everything, I went looking for them in my offline data hoard, but couldn’t find anything. I’d go looking for them multiple times over the years, but I eventually gave up and put them down as lost forever. So, when I heard about http://lostmyspace.com, I got super excited and immediately went looking for our old stuff. I entered “park ’n’ ride” into the search box and … nothing. “Okay, maybe if I enter an old song title? What did we have?” I entered “manowar”, which … well, it got a few hits of actual Manowar songs. Not what I was looking for. I was looking for…
