TCM Summer Under the Stars 2026

TCM Summer Under the Stars returns to Turner Classic Movies next month. Like many TCM fans, I always look forward to it, my only caveat being that Noir Alley is off for a whole month. Regardles, this year has some of my favourite stars and there are also several days devoted to stars who are entirely new to Summer Under the Stars. These include Diane Keaton, George Hamilton, Marie Windsor, Bonita Granville, and Brock Peters. TCM's hosts also got to pick stars to whom days would be devoted to. Eddie Muller picked Joan Bennett, Jacqueline Stewart picked Hattie McDaniel. Alicia Malone picked Barbara Stanwyck. And Dave Karger picked Dana Andrews. One problem I do have with this year's Summer Under the Stars is some odd scheduling in my mind. While I love The Blob (1958), I would have probably scheduled one of the movies more representative of Steve McQueen's work, like The Magnificent Seven (1960) or The Great Esxape (1963), in prime time.
