As I noted when I reviewed it a while back, Modiphius’ second edition of Star Trek Adventures is largely a tune-up to the first edition – to the point where they are putting about the idea that they’re so compatible you can largely drag and drop supplements from one to the other. It can take a little work here and there to adapt first edition supplements, due to some of that system’s wrinkles like the use of D6s for some purposes being ironed away in the revision process; that said, Modiphius have been making 1st-to-2nd-edition conversion pamphlets available for older books for those who’ve bought the PDFs on platforms like DriveThruRPG, extending their usefulness nicely. As for second edition supplements, these have tended to be advertised as being usable just fine with first edition (and the Captain’s Log solo RPG) – but if the first edition supplements are still useful, how can the second edition supplement line stand out?
