My Smart Home Bubble is Bursting

I really am getting fed up with our so-called “smart” home devices. Not a day goes by without some degree of frustration trying to use them. I can’t imagine trying to run my home entirely on these blasted things. The two key offenders are our Ring cameras and LIFX bulbs. The former is rarely in any hurry to show me live view, even moreso when I actually need to look at it quickly. Who just knocked on the front door? Who knows, they’re long gone now! Did something exciting just happen? Let’s check the camera. Oh dear, it only started recording 5 seconds afterward the event or, more commonly, didn’t even notice anything was going on at all! Then there’s the video quality. It sucks. Doesn’t matter if the damn thing is sitting on top of the router, oh no.
