This time I’ve been spending time moving my site because, hey, it’s been a couple of years and what’s laze.net without a periodic server move? I wrote a bit about it on the site already, but I thought I’d comment a little more about the process here. Since I was moving from a service that had Hugo on the backend, I decided to stick with Hugo as an SSG, figuring that the content migration would be easier (it was, mostly). However, while I’m fine dealing with code changes locally, I didn’t want to only write my posts and pages locally and have to deploy them from my laptop. I wanted to be able to write or make quick edits on my phone from elsewhere. To solve that issue along with “where do I host this thing?” I decided to go with Netlify’s free tier and tack on the Sveltia CMS as a front-end GUI for content. This means I post via Sveltia’s GUI, it saves the change to the content folder in Github1, then Netlify runs Hugo to build the… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse.
