Occasional Weeknote #31

OK, so again a month has passed between Weeknotes. This time I’ve been spending time moving my site because, hey, it’s been a couple of years and what’s laze.net without a periodic server move? I wrote a bit about it on the site already, but I thought I’d comment a little more about the process here. Since I was moving from a service that had Hugo on the backend, I decided to stick with Hugo as an SSG, figuring that the content migration would be easier (it was, mostly). However, while I’m fine dealing with code changes locally, I didn’t want to only write my posts and pages locally and have to deploy them from my laptop. I wanted to be able to write or make quick edits on my phone from elsewhere. To solve that issue along with “where do I host this thing?” I decided to go with Netlify’s free tier and tack on the Sveltia CMS as a front-end GUI for content.
