Around two weeks ago, we went to a nearby Chinese buffet for my birthday lunch. The restaurant had just changed owners, and was still working out some scheduling kinks with a new supplier. After the host seated us, he said: "Unfortunately, we are out of kid cups. Instead, we have been punching straw holes into the lids of our plastic takeout soup containers. Will that be all right?"
