Day 160: Few and Far Between

2026-07-16Hello!This was a weird place — I'll start with that. Some music and arts building that was open to the public but felt empty; I left a few minutes later to look for lunch.These lights are not electronic. They are open to the sky above, and are separated with both glass and... some water.This was an underground floor, and I walked above its roof just minutes prior looking down into it. There's a body of water giving the skylights their caustics pattern.This isn't my normal style, but there was no other way to capture such an interesting design from my point of view. I exposed for the highlights, so the ceiling faded to darkness while the water caustics shone white. I took any color out of the image to make it monochrome.Finally, I was never attached to any fictional work. No made-up world has moved me or pushed my buttons in a while. I've been a history nerd for the last few years, and the checkout history of my library card corroborates that more than anything. That anecdote…
