An incomplete list: Educate yourself on what’s going on. If you don’t know what’s going on, don’t opine about it. Sign petitions. Share petitions, and talk about why those petitions are important. Look up local communities working on the things you value–education, climate, poverty, homophobia, caste discrimination, etc. Join those local communities. Spread useful information. When someone confronts you about something you’ve shared, and seem like they want to argue, remember what Arjun Gupta said: “What can I say that will make you change your mind?” Live your values. Live an eco-friendly lifestyle. Amend your language. Read the newspaper carefully. Make a list of the things you can do about what’s happening. Do those things. Meet your local leader. Write letters to the leaders of your constituency. Write explanations of topics; share them everywhere you can.
