Kintsugi (金継ぎ; /kɪnˈtsuːɡi/) is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the cracks with lacquer mixed with gold, silver, or platinum. The cracks and missing pieces stay visible, and the damage becomes the whole point.
