You might remember that Holland also hosted a celestial topic back in February, that time on big gods, which I'm in favour of. The bigger, in fact, the better. I wrote about that in my response, "Gods Must Give: An RPG Blog Carnival Post." I came out quite hard against small gods, or at least ones dependent on mortal belief and worship, and I think my reasons were sound. However, I also acknowledged that there are several ways small gods can work, and in particular I made an exception for David Somerville's stonepunk Planegea setting, published with Atlas Games: Maybe, in your games, archfey or elementals or primordial spirits or eldritch horrors are what personify those things that exceed mortal control.
