She’d brought him in for the night, but was looking for his person. The next day, I was outside chatting with my next-door neighbor when a woman drove by asking if we’d seen two loose cats. I said, “No, but our neighbor down the block found one yesterday.” I connected them, and the woman happily took her cat back home, thanking us. She’d just gotten two cats from a friend. The other was still missing, but she was glad to have this orange one (who my neighbor decided to name “George”) back home. One morning a week later, I came downstairs and there was George, hanging out on our porch. He’s a super sweet cat, so he relished the attention I gave him. I picked him up and brought him back down to his person’s house. When I knocked on the door, she answered and kind of waved me away, saying, “No, no… he’s an outdoor cat now.
