Camera focus adventures with a super rad insect There's this metal corrugated awning that covers a patio in my backyard right outside the living room window; birds love it because it catches a bunch of the oak tree's acorns and like, win/win - I look out a window and there's a goddamn buffet for creatures both avian and squirrel-adjacent that I can regularly photograph. Like, a year ago we had this wild wind storm while it was below freezing and our oak tree took a BIT of a beating (it was like, actively shattering and scary as shit) and a large branch snapped off but got stuck in the tree and then stayed there. It was so high up we kinda couldn't really do anything about it and knew at some point, it would finally admit its soul is weighed down by earth's gravity. The day finally came! Thankfully no damage to the metal awning or the house, but before I could go and move it off, a dragonfly landed on one of the branches and let me do some goddamn camera focus adventures. Grab the…
