Burn the Floor presents Nikita Kuzmin – Supernova

If you were in London and fancied a joyful escape from the men’s football world cup final, chances are you hot-footed it down to the New Wimbledon Theatre to experience Strictly Come Dancing star Nikita Kuzmin’s new touring show, Supernova. Presented by long-running dance hit Burn the Floor, it sees Kuzmin in collaboration with choreographer Jason Gilkison, exploding onto the stage with the energy, charisma and enthusiasm Strictly viewers have come to expect. Along with his cast of seven fellow dancers (and singer Lois Faith), he has been joined by a special guest star at each date – and Wimbledon just happened to be Karen Hauer’s very last night on the tour. The tour may be named Supernova (which the US Department of Energy defines as “the colossal, cataclysmic explosion of a star”), but this is no such career collapse for Kuzmin. The show itself is obviously mostly focused on an array of colourful dance routines, but there is also some time for a bit of interaction between Kuzmin…
