Day 157: Deer on the Roadside

2026-07-13Hello! I'm glad I'm not talking about roadkill today.I've looked back at all the photos I've published on this website. A surprising amount of them — including yesterday's image — are iterations and improvements on previous photos I've taken. Those previous photos would have been shared through text message before 1Day1Photo took its current form, or kept on my computer for personal archival.This is one of those improved photos. Many months ago, I took a photo of deer in the snow on the side of a road in this same park. Those deer were far away and I never saved the raw camera file, so I was never able to go back and modify it with my improved editing skills of today.This photo doesn't need such editing. Aside from a color tweak, the image is great straight out of camera. The deer does have that texture that I have never noticed before — wispy hairs or furs on its skin.And the ribs creating bumps in its skin... poor thing must be starved.I might have gotten a bit too close.…
