I’m sitting at my desktop computer perusing old blog entries. I’ve looked at a couple of entries from ‘milestone’ intervals to the past: 5 years, 10 years, 15 years, 20 years. It’s interesting to me to see how much I have changed and how much I haven’t changed over the decades. Five years ago I posted about a song that was 30 years old at the time. I probably haven’t heard the song since I wrote about it 2021, but here it is again. From 1991, here’s “In My Dreams” by The Party. It’s a clever pop cover of the original Dokken track from 1986. I have always been very curious about the effects seen around 2:36 in that video, especially since the video was produced in the days of Amigas and the like. I’m pretty sure they were produced using a Video Toaster (NewTek?) with an Amiga. Nifty stuff back in the day and I still find those types of effects more impressive than the standard CGI we see today. Very artsy. It’s probably because I was younger, but society just seemed much more relaxed…
