Arizona Primary Is Tomorrow Arizona has elections for governor/lieutentant governor (one ticket), attorney general, secretary of state, state treasurer, superintendent of public instruction, state mine inspector, and nine House seats this year. Gov. Katie Hobbs (D-AZ) is running for reelection and is unopposed in the Democratic primary. On the Republican side, there is a contest between extremely Trumpy (and Trump endorsed) Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Rep. David Schweikert (R-AZ), plus some minor and perennial candidates. Schweikert is conservative, but less Trumpy. His pitch is that he can win statewide because he has won an R+1 district seven times in a row. Biggs' district is R+10. If Biggs wins the GOP nomination, Hobbs is essentially home free. If Schweikert wins it, it could be a real horse race, although the horses might get overheated racing in the Arizona sun. Click here for full story
