Today is my Grandpa’s funeral. Thank you for coming all that could make it. And thank you to those watching online. I wrote the following this morning. —— I have been struggling to write what I want to say. One part because I feel so complexly about his loss; another part because since his passing I’ve filled my schedule with so much social activities and work I’ve had little energy to sit down and write. Again one part I think is me avoiding the uncomfortable feeling of loss; another part says this is the best way to honour him. —— My Grandpa was a great man. Since I was a little boy I’ve been told this, seen this, and been in awe by this. For most of my life I only knew Grandpa Bob the legend. The deal maker, the businessman, the problem solver. —— Grandpa had an intimidation factor to him; largely, I suspect, based on how parents, friends, other people talked about him to me my whole life. He was different. Built different. —— To me at first this was normal. Everyone had a grandpa…
