Brazilian Elections Around the Corner: My Thoughts on the Main Candidates.

This post is only available to RSS subscribers. This post is RSS-only because I don’t trust the current climate in Brazil. Call it paranoia if you want. I call it pattern recognition. People who criticize powerful institutions get dragged, doxxed, investigated, and turned into examples. I’m not volunteering to become content for someone else’s political theater. Anyway, the 2026 presidential race. Polls come and go, and Brazil is a country where “sure thing” candidates have a way of turning into “how did that happen” candidates overnight. Still, the basic shape of it is what you’d expect: Lula is sitting there like the default setting, and the opposition side is a messy pile of brands, egos, and people auditioning for attention. Lula, to me, is the symbol of everything that keeps Brazil stuck. Not because he’s the only problem, but because he’s the clearest proof the country never really deals with its own political rot.
