Bookshelf #38

This week's bookshelf is my original First Second shelf, and, indeed, most of the books here are from the publisher. On the furthest left are the bigger format books, like Aaron Renier's The Unsinkable Walker Bean, a couple of George O'Connor's Olympian books, a couple of Lewis Trondheim and Fabrice Parme's Tiny Tyrant books and, turned sideways to better fit the shelf but thus hiding their spines, the first of James Sturm and company's Adventures in Cartooning books and Gene Luen Yang's Prime Baby. Then comes more standard-sized First Second books, including Richard Sala's Cat Burglar Black, Trondheim's Vampire Loves, Dong Hwa Kim's The Color of... trilogy and more. There's no real rhyme or reason to the other, non-First Second books on the shelf; I seem to have just stuck the wherever they fit.So, laying across the top of the First Seconds are Hope Larson and Rebecca Mock's two-book adventure series Compass South and Knife's Edge and a couple of Papercutz's Smurfs collections.
