Week Notes 29, 2026

Hello. Sorry it's been a while. Nothing is interesting still. Coding/Tech After all the shit that's happened recently, I wanted to get a Thinkpad and put a BSD on it. However they aren't actually cheap (there's this weird thing where people say that "oh old Thinkpad's and Raspberry Pis and SBCs are cheap", but they never have been). So I dug around my parts shelf and found my old 2017 Dell XPS something. I had thought that it was borked because it would shutdown after about 5 minutes. Turns out the battery is just dead. Found a replacement from iFixIt (a bit spenno but in the EU so no customs shit to deal with). Hopefully next weekend I'll have some 'dev only' machine up and running Gaming Been doing a proper Factorio run that will ultimately be a 'forever' save since 2.1 is happening soon and that will be the final patch for the game. Two things (both youtubers) inspired this indirectly: Firstly, Neuroplastic installing a whole bunch of planet mods into their save which has 1k hours…
