Pamela Isley, otherwise known as Poison Ivy, leaves a courthouse in Gotham City: H. H. Richardson’s Allegheny County Courthouse in Pittsburgh: Photo by Jamie Stillman, via the Society of Architectural Historians “Archipedia.” I didn’t immediately identify the building when I saw the comic, but I immediately identified the architect. Richardson had what most architects want: a style so personal that people could copy it but never quite equal it.
