After a bunch of weeknotes, a proper journal post starts to feel a bit high-stakes. Weeknotes are easy; just log what happened. A blank essay page wants a topic. Something bigger than “work was hectic this week.” So the mind starts looking for topics. Portfolio? Design/art? Offline living? Music/books? Mountains? AI? A trip that already got its Sunday paragraph? Vulnerability? I can feel the ideas lining up, but none of them seem quite “fitting” yet. And honestly, I don’t feel like being raw / vulnerable anymore. It’s been a lot this year, and I am a bit afraid of putting something sincere / heartfelt out into the world. (The irony here isn’t lost on me.) So I’ve lately been waiting for the clean idea.
