They connect seemingly unrelated events, conversations, and experiences, deciding that the universe or whatever higher power they believe in is trying to tell them something. I do not know if I believe that in every situation, but I might be willing to believe it this time. Over the past few weeks, I have been having conversation after conversation about home. It has come up in discussions about identity and belonging with friends and acquaintances, as well as in the things I have been reading and writing. We always seem to circle back to what home means, where it is, and whether it is a place, a feeling, a person, or something else entirely. After getting into yet another conversation about home this week, I decided it was finally time to finish this draft, which has existed in different scraps in my notes app for well over a year.
