One thing I’ve noticed over the last few months is how my OmniFocus has become a bit of a black hole. Over the course of a week I’ll input a bunch of tasks, but beyond moving them out of the inbox and into their relevant projects not much happens. Either I’ll completely forget to do the thing or I’ll come across the task days or weeks later, after it’s already done and I’ll check it off then.This is clearly not a useful system.How exactly I’m going to fix this issue I’m still not sure, but it’s one of my goals for the next few weeks while I’m still off work and have the time and mental energy to spare. The perfect system probably doesn’t exist, but if I can somehow put together a foundation that is a bit more stable than what I’m currently working with I’ll at least be better off than I am now.Now, I’m not going to go down the road of switching To-Do apps. I’ve done that more than enough, and I always end up back in OmniFocus. The only thing that might get me to change is if Things…

  • If you are inputting the tasks, that is half the battle.

    But a habit that starts with looking at your task manager every day and letting it tell you what to work on is key.

    I'd recommend reading Getting Things Done and Making it All Work, both by David Allen
