In a bid to make my previous flat cosy (fuelled by dreams instigated by pastel youtubers) I bought a few plants. Of course, in my frenzied megalomania I bought a Strelitzia (bird of paradise) for a hefty amount and marvelled at its beauty. I call her Tereza because that way I can remember her scientific name. Two pots later this being has grown exponentially in the corner I have placed it in. Now the plant has started leaning towards the window, seeking direct sunlight and it looks as though it is trying to escape. I have tried to straighten it with the recent pot change, but Tereza is a strong independent plant and refuses to stand straight. Should I dig it back out, cut out the section of soil holding the branches which are bent and re-align them? I've thought of moving her to another place to force the branches to move in the opposite direction, but the space is limited. Now as she grows even more leaves, I fear for us, as she slowly becomes the overlord of the living room. I have…
