I’ve been shooting my beloved Pentax ME preparing to write a fresh review of it — the one that exists dates to 2011! It’s aged off Google, and I’ve learned so much in the last 15 years that I can write a far better review of it now. It was a deeply overcast morning so I loaded a roll from my stash of Fujifilm Neopan 400, expired since 2014 and 2015 but always stored cold. I mounted my 50mm f/1.7 SMC Pentax-M lens. After shooting the whole roll at the show, I developed the film in Clayton F76+ 1+9. And then I dropped the entire wet, freshly developed roll onto the floor. This loaded part of the roll with so much dust and debris that it would have taken me many hours over many days to spot it all out in Photoshop. And then I saw that a large number of the frames were underexposed. I hadn’t used the ME in more than a year; perhaps its shutter speeds had drifted.
