americans stop saying 'its not that hot' challenge 0 ▲ got a head full of spiders 1 hour ago · Life · hide · 0 comments So. The UK is going through it's second heatwave of the year. The weather becomes more manageable over the weekend - at least, for me in Ireland it will be - but so far it's been ten days of relentless sunshine with little to no breeze. It sucks. If you look in the comments section on any social media post of someone from the UK talking about the heatwave, there's always a flock of smug Americans laughing about it. These are some I got from skimming Instagram. 'That's not hot. Try 44°C lol' 'You wouldn't last long here. That's a nice spring day.' 'I keep my bedroom AC at that temp. Calm down.' Every year this happens. Every year this gets on my nerves. God forbid you try to explain or educate them, because it seemingly goes over their heads that it's not supposed to be like this. Ireland is usually 12°C / 53°F. When I was a child, summer sunshine was literally a week long if you were lucky at a max of 19°C / 66°F. The rest of the time it's overcast or raining. Being up at 27°C / 80°F… No comments yet. Log in to reply on the Fediverse. Comments will appear here.
