I have been wearing smartwatches for over ten years now, pretty much ever since Apple released the first Apple Watch. I went through several of the basic models, eventually landing on the Apple Watch Ultra and up until recently wearing the Ultra 2 daily. I really liked their design and the interchangeable bands, braided solo loop ftw! Had sported pretty much all of the Pride solo loops over time. But like many people embedded deep in technology, I started feeling the tech fatigue of too many notifications and distractions. This is also why I moved away from using my phone as camera when playing with my kids and switched to dedicated, single-purpose devices like my Fuji X-E5 or the DJI Osmo. I didn’t like that my younger ones would start playing with my Apple Watch whenever they’d sit on my lap either. That pushed me to try to replace my smartwatch in favor of a classic analog one. I love Bauhaus style and for years my dream watch has been Nomos Glashütte Ahoi Neomatik 38 Date…
