We’re having another wildfire smoke day in Chicago (previously), with air so thick that your nose gets black and you taste it in every breath. As I walked my daughter to school this morning I talked to her about how this smoke has floated a thousand miles to end up stuck in our noses here, about how this is a reminder that we are all connected eventually, about how I hope this will bring rain.
